'advice you can trust, help you can rely on'
sustainability pioneer |
Grant Webster established VIROtech in March, 1987 with the aim of introducing practical and sustainable products to mainstream Australia.
Over the ensuing years, he gathered a stable of products under the VIROtech banner that met certain criteria:
VIROtech products have included:
|
VIROtech has evolved into Australia's leading compost toilet company, and Grant has accumulated a wealth of practical experience with domestic and commercial systems and has a comprehensive understanding of system design and function.
VIROtech's clients range from home owners and eco-tourism operators to large government entities including NSW Government, NSW Roads and Maritime Services (RMS), the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and many local governments. He spends whatever time it takes to fully understand your needs and expectations before recommending products that will suit your application. |
passion in practice
|
Grant moved to Wyndham, NSW in 2006 and established an entirely off-grid three bedroom family home on 56 acres fronting Myrtle Creek.
It had a 1.8Kw stand-alone solar power system, a solar bore pump lifting crystal clear creek water to a tank on a hill to gravity feed the house, solar hot water backed up with a waterjacket flue on the wood-fired heater - and of course a Clivus Multrum CM14 composting toilet, with a simple greywater system - all fully compliant. Passive solar design with mubdbrick, stone and droplog walls and a northerly aspect. A beautiful, comfortable family home with all the mod cons - all off-grid. |
By the 1990s, VIROtech was installing waterless toilets in roadside amenities on the Hay plains for the NSW Government (RTA) and in 2008 at Kapooka Army Base for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
VIROtech's robust, fully compliant, purpose designed commercial amenities are well suited to isolated and/or sensitive sites. Our new fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) kit buildings come in a range of configurations including standard, ambulant and disabled access compliant cubicles. Rot proof, termite proof, fire resistant and cyclone rated. Engineered for the Australian environment with high quality fixtures & fittings. |
a message to the world - EVs are coming!
In 2009, Louis Palmer used a VIROtech solar system to charge his solar taxi on his way around the world in the first ever global circumnavigation by a solar powered electric vehicle (EV).
It took Louis 534 days to complete the circumnavigation, spreading a powerful message to the world about the future. |
Although we no longer supply these, our guiding principle has always been that products must perform to the highest standards in the real world. These products come highly recommended as practical, functional & friendly solutions.
"Grant was very helpful from the-get-go. He listened to my many pre-sale questions and accurately advised us on the best solution for our needs."
